Impact fee reduction proposal

The town councilor handed out copies and called the proposed $614,899 impact fee reduction — including a $311,049 school fee cut — 'absurd' given the town's budget constraints and school facility needs.

Supported parts of the proposal, explaining that impact fees not spent for their designated purpose may have to be refunded to the developer, and that much of the reduction stems from legally allowed offsets.

Pushed back on the previous speaker, noting the developer still offered $200,000 and arguing the builder could have sought the fee reduction at the time of the zone change request.
